There will be a special
focus on Education at next aKademy,
Tuesday 3rd July, at the Department of Computer & Information Sciences, University of Strathclyde in GLASGOW. Various talks about using KDE in schools, deploying Linux will look into the reality of real life for teachers. GCompris author, Bruno Coudoin, will present
GCompris and will probably amaze you with his
Tux Droid (Bruno demonstrated it at our LUG and as Bruno is talented to speak, he made it a very enjoyable talk). Recently Bruno also got an OLPC small laptop and integrated GCompris with it. If you don't know GCompris, it is a whole educational suite with lots of activities. Primarily targetted to kids, it is now also widely used for rehabiliting adults, as I mentioned in my previous post.
